"No Name" the cat

A client brought No Name in on September 12. He said that he usually fed the cat along with some others behind the restaurant that he worked at, but hadn’t seen the cat in a couple of days. Then, on Monday when the cat showed up again, the client decided to bring him in because he had a “laceration” on his tail. When the client pulled the cat out of the carrier, there was a one-inch hole in the tail with maggots spilling out of it. Dr. Sangani recommended surgery, and said he would try to save the tail if it was still alive. However, once the cat was under anesthesia, it became apparent that the tail would have to be amputated, since it was already dying and the risk of a serious infection was too great. Dr. Sangani performed the amputation, leaving a 3-inch stump. No Name came through the surgery quite well and is doing fine and no doubt feeling much better.
Pictures from the surgery can be seen in the gallery.

Laci's Kittens

Laci came to us as a kitten that no one wanted. Dr. Sangani loved her beautiful markings and decided to keep her as a hospital resident. Unfortunately, before he got the chance to spay her, Laci managed to get outside and got pregnant. We were thrilled when she gave birth to five healthy kittens on August 25. The kittens are three weeks old now and are beginning to create a lot of mischief. Laci is ready to take a break from being a mom, and as soon as the kittens are weaned, we will spay her to guarantee this.
Pictures of Laci and her kittens can be found in our photo gallery!

Moogly's Story

Moogly came to us as a puppy. His owner brought him to the clinic after he had been hit by a car. His right hind leg had been severely damaged, and Dr. Sangani stated that the leg would have to be amputated. The owner was unable to pay for the surgery and requested that Dr. Sangani euthanize Moogly. However, Dr. Sangani was unable to end the life of such a happy little puppy, and asked the owner to sign Moogly over to the hospital. The owner agreed, and Dr. Sangani successfully completed the surgery. Now Moogly is healthy and surprisingly agile. People are surprised to notice that he only has 3 legs. Moogly’s favorite pastime is chewing on his buddies Chombe and Bandit.
